Lake Creek Greenway Partnership Ribbon Cutting

Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce welcomed Lake Creek Greenway Partnership (LCGP) with a Ribbon Cutting held at the Montgomery County Lake Creek Preserve. President Glenn Buckley (holding ceremonial scissors) and other LCGP Board members welcomed Parkway Chamber members and residents at the entrance to one of the completed educational exhibit trails. The boardwalks and exhibits are being developed by volunteers, including more than19 Eagle projects! The LCGP’s mission statement is to improve recreational opportunities and preserve green space and water quality within the Lake Creek Watershed. Buckley and other dedicated volunteers hope this area will become an outdoor recreational spot for local residents and organizations to enjoy for years to come. Future plans include a canoe/kayak trail and nature/conference center that will provide educational programs to the public. Additional trails are expected to be completed later this year.

Buckley completed the ceremony with a guided one-mile hike on one of the open trails. The Nature Preserve is located just north of FM1488 on Fish Creek Thoroughfare. If you are interested in supporting this community project or would like more information, please visit www.lakecreektx.org.
