MPCC’s Acceptance into LMC

The Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce was accepted into Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) for the 2015 program.  The first two graduates through the Magnolia Parkway Chamber were Chamber President, Kelly Hamann and Chamber member, Darwin Pressley with Edward Jones Investments.  The 2015 Class graduation included 44 classmates and had more than 350 people register to attend the luncheon ceremony.  LMC gives participants the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the community and enhance their leadership skills through the leadership development series, all while networking with other professionals and creating lifelong friendships. The nine-month program also gives class members the chance to give back to the community with their class project.

The 2015 Class project “Keep Us Fed Montgomery County” helps to address food insecurity for the underserved through a food recovery program. Prior to the hand-off to the Montgomery County Texas Homeless Coalition, the class saved 7,700 pounds of wholesome and nutritious food from waste and delivered it to nonprofits in the county to be distributed to those in need. Please visit http://www.keepusfedmoco.org/ for details and to support this project.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016 Class and are available at http://lmctx.org/lmc-application/. The June 16th deadline is fast approaching, so apply today.  Each applicant must be a member of one of the participating Chambers.
