Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce was proud to include the presentation of quarterly awards at its monthly networking breakfast on Tuesday, June 14, at Eden Café. Chris O’Rourke was recognized as the Veteran of the Quarter. Immediately after high school, Chris enlisted in the US Marines and served for a total of eight years. During that time, he attended electronics repair school in 29 Palms, California. Chris started working for Microsoft in 1995 and moved his way up to Senior Technology Specialist. Two years after starting with the company, Bill Gates awarded Chris for being the #1 Systems Engineer within the Central Region of North America. In 2003, Chris decided to leave Microsoft to pursue investments in real estate. Today, Chris is the owner of Outback Western Wear in Magnolia, where he also teaches Country Western Dancing.
The Veteran of the Quarter award was presented by Jason Rinn and Brian Gremminger of Texans United For Freedom (TUFF), the 2016 Sponsor.
The networking breakfast takes place on the second Tuesday of each month. Members and guests are both welcome to attend the event. Members have the opportunity to stand up and give a 30 second commercial about their business.
